(Em, Uncle GZA, and I at a show he did in Chicago) I know i'm late with this but I just needed to add my two cents on this youngin Soljah Boy’s recent comments about my man the Genius. “I wouldn’t even rap against the Genius. I’d put up someone who was born in ’66 to go against the Genius so it can be a tie. He’s got like 50 years on me. I wouldn’t even associate with the Genius. Maybe the GZA need to make “Crank Dat GZA.””
WHO THE HELL DOES THIS JIT THINK HE IS?!?!!?!? Somebody hunt him down and beat him with a copy of Liquid Swords! The GZA is a BEAST! Not only is he an amazing mc he’s an amazing person and always has a smile on his face. Even spittin the hardest of rhymes. A true lyrical genius (it’s not a matter of opinion, but FACT) young artists like Soulja Boy should look to him for guidance. I know the GZA “started it” by saying,”Fuck Soulja Boy” at a show (peep the youtube video above), and that ain’t a way to build a bridge to the youth either but I mean, he did have a point! Below is a link to a Rewind the Rhyme interview I did with the GZA for Allhiphop.com talking about the creative origins of some of his most classic tracks. Hope ya like:)http://cuban-linx.net/forum/archive/index.php/t-267.html
