No NAS! NO!

[uggh.]

Well folks, for your listening pleasure here is Nas's new record, "Be a Nigger Too" off his upcoming album, (wait for it...) Nigger!!! I told ya'll I was done with Nas after his display of foolishness at the Grammy's and a lotta folks were upset. "Deev you can't judge till you've heard the music!" Well, if this record is any representation of what the album is then I stand by my original judgement!

Not only is the beat HORRENDOUS. But the hook is absolutely intolerable. He's trying too hard yo. I guess this is supposed to be subversive and rebellious but it's not even good music. Choppy flow, bum mix, corny lyrics. He's a shadow of his former self. And NO it is NOT ok that Eminem says, "Nigga!!"

Corny lyrics! Did you hear the first verse? Second verse was oaky but the last line about the Grand Dragons head sealed it. Its another typical Nas song, not as bad as you hyperbolize it. But I can see why some people won't like it.

Still a Nigga,
Frederick

Yo i know you must give Nas another let down in your
Diva Speak Tv Ep, there's no message in his lyrics at all, it's sounds weak, he's reaching, not actually touchin nothing concrete.

this song is going to confuse the youngsta'z . i don't know what hell he was sniffing when he said he'z cool with eminem about saying the "n" word . the only good thing about that line is that he brought the whole eminem saying the "n" word thing back to light cause it seems like im the only one in my crew, city, state who remembered that but overall the song suckz.

Uuum, I'm not quite sure what the "message" in this song is supposed to be, but I feel overall he's saying it's basically okay and to not only call everybody a "nigger" but to also use derogatory terms such as spic, and chink...and NO its not okay to say either of them. He should rethink this whole album and the message that he's giving to the young people who are gonna go around and repeat this "song".

you serious? He actually made alot of points in the song.

"they pit old niggas versus young ones.... Most of are elders failed us how can they judge us"

or when he said that line about how were fighting each other over this issue for their pleasure. The beat was hot to me. The first verse was hot, the second verse lacked substance, and the chorus was obviously meant to piss people off. But either way, shit was hot overall.

The thing with this song is that your only going to like it based on what your opinion is of this whole nigga sittuation. If you feel like he shouldn't have done it or you dont like the word nigga, your obviously going to hate this song, but if your like me and your dont care to stress over the word anymore when theres other more important shit to stress than your probaly gonna like it

Damn Amanda...you got balls B!

I wish they ban this album before it gets released and sets hip-hop back into the negative spotlight. With powerful/influential artists making degrading productions such as this, where's the hope for reincarnation of solid music? This generation is gonna be misguided...

Listen, the word Nigger, I don't want to hear it, Nas
has open the door and confuse people to use it and think it's cool or ok, i'm very insulted by that word much more any other group of persons
that are of color.

opinion of a Black Man.

Rappers have been saying nigger for damn near the past two decades, so I'm not jumping out the window over this. Clearly this album is not for everyone, but imo hiphop is about speaking your mind, so I'll be checking what Nasir Jones has to say.

hip-hop rapper's use nigga/nigger and it's all right
no matter what race they are, any rapper can use nigga or nigger people shouldn't say who can and who not say that word, hip-hop wouldn't be real if you did that.

Ya'll gotta listen to the whole song and read in betwwen the lines even... you MISS MANDA DIVA!( of course with all do respect)
The point I think he's tryin' to make is that urban culture is being raped and now it's "cool" to be a nigga to make money! But in the 2nd part of the chorus he reminds us of when it was not cool.... and where lynched, defamed, and hung ( by the US "justice system. Meaning being that our hip hop culture reached and was embrased by so many different people
some who don't understand what it is really about think that being a nigga is cool! but that word that is used so freely represents alot of pain and struggle which is the side that gets swept under the rug! o he gives perspectives negative and positive

ny the way he says to Em. it's cool if u call us nigga and then went to call him a "wigger" and a "cracker" showing you that no one is exempt from name calling! the call jews kikes asian people chinks and italian people ginnies!
NIGGA IS ONLYA WORD! DON'T GIVE IT MORE POWER THAN ALREADY HAAS!

I've been reading some Black Panther literature lately... maybe this Nigger song is a plot by the government to get black people to divide themselves even further?

No where in my post did i say anything about having a problem with Nas saying nigga so i'm not really sure where ya'll came up with that in regards to me. I don't like the song because 1: the beat is trash, 2: the hook is corny and 3: i feel like overall he's being extra for the purpose of controversy as opposed to the purpose of mind growth. I hear some of the things he's saying but overall i feel like this song just isn't an articulate representation of anything. What point is he REALLY trying to make? And is it one that needs to be made?

Well as a street single in my opinion Salaam Remi did his thing on the beat. The hook is from a 1978 Dr.Pepper jingle so I thought its quite creative. As for the point he's REALLY trying to make, I think he is just presenting his thoughts on racism today(which is clearly still alive judging frm last yrs nooses,Jena6)...now well I may not agree with his views on the use of the word "nigger" I applaud the fact that he's not scared to express himself even with all the resistance & controversy...and self-expression is what hiphop is about,

I agree with loveher and pink...hip hop is backtracking.
The "n" word will always be known for a negative connotation because of the way it came about and the fact that it crosses racial lines unlike "gangster".

Nas went about his knew song in the wrong way,
there is a message but it's mixed up not arranged right in his format to reach people in a more positive way.
