On this day in 1968 Martin Luther King Jr. was assassinated. Supposedly it was by James Earl Ray but in my opinion this was of course the work of a bigger force and that same force continues its work by keeping Black folks in this country too busy with coonery, materialism, and misogyny to focus on gaining a true sense of self and a true realization of equality. Don't let them fool ya!
For anyone doubting the power of music for change here's a some footage of James Brown that fateful night in Boston. America was on fire with angry riots started by a people who with the firing of a bullet saw their dreams deferred but the next day on the hardest night in show business, the hardest man in show business got on stage brought a people together through song.

I really hope James Brown's life, someone will one day have the power to make a movie of his life and show what a impact he made in history of Black Pride
"Well, I don't know what will happen now. We've got some difficult days ahead. But it really doesn't matter with me now, because I've been to the mountaintop. And I don't mind. Like anybody, I would like to live a long life — longevity has its place. But I'm not concerned about that now. I just want to do God's will. And He's allowed me to go up to the mountain. And I've looked over, and I've seen the Promised Land. I may not get there with you. But I want you to know tonight, that we, as a people, will get to the promised land. So I'm happy, tonight. I'm not worried about anything, I'm not fearing any man. Mine eyes have seen the glory of the coming of the Lord." — the Rev. Martin Luther King Jr."

His final speech still gives me shivers. A God-sent prophet of our time. I hope Obama will be the spark that ignites a black renaissance because right now the black community is largely in disarray.
And you mentioned James Brown , I just watched "Talk to Me" about a month ago, and it contained a remake of that famous performance of his..recommended movie.
Amen to that, yes James Brown did.
The song "Say It Loud I'm Black and I'm Proud" made history.

A movie that claims Jesus never existed can't really be taken seriously. They might as well say aliens built the pyramids.
Serious, check it out his real is Yeshua not Jesus.
